From their beginnings in suburban Canberra and empowered by the DIY energy of the emerging punk scene, Brothers Phil and Mick Moriarty formed The Gadflys.
Rootsy and eclectic, the Gadflys peripatetic career has seen them perform all over Australia. Touring Europe and the UK through the early 90’s from busking in the streets of Dublin to The Edinburgh festival and appearances on BBC Radio and Television. Regular appearances on ABC’s hit show Good News Week brought them into lounge rooms all around Australia. Their brand of upbeat rootsy dynamism adding excitement and drive to the program. Like T-rex on Alligator wine. Live music at its best.
