Mount Kujo @ The BEAST

Monday public Holiday Eve The Beast welcomes the mighty, multi-limbed Mount Kujo to our bandroom for two massive sets of Psychedelic Funk, Jazz, Latin and Afro-beat. A vibrant collective of culturally diverse musicians from all around the world, playing lush arrangements of polyrhythms, unexpected changes and explosive horn sections.

Mount Kujo was formed in 2019 by bandleader Max Myland who brought some of his original composition ideas to Melbourne’s warmer cityscape from Berlin. Since then Mount Kujo have played numerous festivals (Dragon Dreaming, Tanglewood, Port Fairy, Castlemaine Jazz, Renaissance) and club shows (Night Cat, Toff in Town, The Gaso, 24 Moons, Stay Gold) but are probably best known for their intimate shows in some of those beautiful hidden bars in the side streets of Naarm.
