Bill Kirchen continues his love affair with Australia, returning to play at MEMO MUSIC Hall with Australian guitar legends Peter Baylor and Benny Peters with their all-star band. The show will also feature special guests Suzannah Espie and Sarah Carroll. It will be a ONE-OFF Melbourne Show.
Bill Kirchen is best known for his work in the late 60’s-early 70’s from the Cosmic Cowboy era with seminal band of that genre Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen. Responsible for hits such as Hot Rod Lincoln, Semi Truck and Seeds and Stems. Bill went on to have a solo career that has spanned 5 decades and is known as one of the founding fathers of “Twangcore”. Bill has won a swag of awards, is the self-titled “Kind of Dieselbilly” and was named “The Titan of the Telecaster” by Guitar Magazine. In recent years he has collaborated with the likes of Elvis Costello and Nick Lowe.
