Black Lips

The Black Lips are a self-described "flower punk" band which formed in Atlanta, Georgia, United States in 2000. While still teenagers, they formed after guitarist Cole Alexander and bassist Jared Swilley left the Renegades, and guitarist Ben Eberbaugh left the Reruns. Drummer Joe Bradley joined a few months later. They released their first 7" in late 2001/early 2002 on their own Die Slaughterhaus label.

There is more than one artist with this name: One is a 70's punk/garagerock band fronted by Jeff "Mono Man" Connolly, who would later go on to form <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Lyres" class="bbcode_artist">Lyres</a>. The other is a collaboration between dubstep producers <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Digital+Mystikz" class="bbcode_artist">Digital Mystikz</a> and <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Loefah" class="bbcode_artist">Loefah</a>, and refers to a label, a club night and sometimes individual tracks.

The Models

There are at least 3 bands called The Models One is a girl group from the 1960s, who relased a cover of "Bend Me, Shape Me" in 1966. One being a English punk band who released Man of The Year/Freeze 7 inch in 1979. The band included future Rema-Rema and Adam and the Ants guitarist and early British punk fixture Marco Pirroni. And the other are one of Australia’s most successful and pioneering electronic bands who topped the charts throughout the 80’s.

Axemen

The Axemen is a New Zealand band formed around 1981 in protest against the South African Springbok rugby team tour of New Zealand, a tour which created great controversy, especially as was in contradiction to New Zealand’s obligations under the Gleneagles Agreement. The Axemen played in Chch Cathedral 1981 in response to the Springbok tour. They also played at the protests for homosexual law reform in 1983, with member Little Stevie McCabe being severely beaten up in the Cathedral Square, Christchurch, toilets.
