There are more than one artist named Chasm, one an Australian hip hop DJ, another a technical death metal group from Scotland, the third a Norwegian alternative rock band, the fourth is a pseudonym of Robert Hampson, who records as Main. . 1) Chasm the DJ is heavily influenced and inspired by soul, roots, reggae and jazz music; all of which is highly evident in the construction of his unique production that results in Chasm bringing a distinctive flavour to Australian hip hop.

The Swedish <a href="http://www.last.fm/tag/death%20metal" class="bbcode_tag" rel="tag">death metal</a> band Hypocrisy was formed by <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Peter+T%C3%A4gtgren" class="bbcode_artist">Peter T&auml;gtgren</a> in 1990 upon his return to Sweden from Florida, where he had been inspired by that state's flourishing death metal scene (bands like <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Morbid+Angel" class="bbcode_artist">Morbid Angel</a>, <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Deicide" class="bbcode_artist">Deicide</a>, <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Death" class="bbcode_artist">Death</a> and <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Obituary" class="bbcode_artist">Obituary</a>). Pod People is an Australian doom metal band from Canberra. Their sound combines doom/stoner metal with death metal vocals. They have released three EPs, one album and one 7". Pod People have opened for the likes of doom masters Electric Wizard and Cathedral. The band recorded a new album over the later half of 2007 and early 08 and are looking to release their next album "Mons Animae Mortuorum" (Mountain of the Souls of the Dead) through Goatsound in Australia in August 2008 and hopefully Rise Above internationally.
