Dane Blacklock and the Preacher's Daughter

Dane Blacklock moved to Melbourne in 2010 and immediately fell in with a bad crowd. Those unwashed miscreants from the wrong side of the tracks that were up to no good. They were into pre-marital sex, illicit substances and rock and roll music. Dane began frequenting live music venues where he was exposed to a host of grimy, rough, blues and country artists. His poor innocent mind was never the same. Soon he was practicing guitar, and 'jamming' with other would be musicians, he formed rock and roll 'groups' with his friends, first Golgotha Motel, a rough and ready savage little enterprise, then the later more refined evolution, Dane Blacklock and the Preacher's Daughter, who together created a kind of doom-folk grime blues hootenanny sound. They played around the Fitzroy and Collingwood area in dive bars of low moral calibre. Now after years of fraternising, dallying, drinking alcoholic beverages, playing music, and other dangerous behaviour, Dane plays with the Preacher's Daughter ...

With influences ranging from Thee Oh Sees and Ty Segall to The Brian Jonestown Massacre, fans of wild guitar tones, a healthy dose of the psychedelic and a wall-of-sound stage presence will feel right at home. The Bad Randys are a familiar name at some of Melbourne's most iconic band rooms, including Cactus Room, The Grace Darling and Last Chance Rock & Roll Bar. 2021 is shaping up to be an exciting year for the band, as it brings with it their anticipated first single, 'Serotonin'.

Catholic Guilt

Melbourne/Naarm-based five-piece Catholic Guilt combine elements of punk, alt, folk and rock to create a sound they call 'honest music'. Following the success of 2018's independently released debut EP Hymnbook Vol. 1 which saw them secure Spotify editorial playlisting and airplay via triple j, the band released a critically acclaimed follow-up 'This Is What Honesty Sounds Like' via the Californian label Wiretap Records in August 2020. A musical exploration of five very different human experiences, isolation, frustration, love, anger, and loss, 'This Is What Honesty Sounds Like' earned the band national and international airplay, including love from KROQ in LA, triple j unearthed & triple j. A captivating live act, they've rocked stages up and down the east coast, including appearances on major festivals Full Tilt Festival and Knight & Day Festival and filled support slots with Real Friends, Chasing Ghosts and Switchfoot. Currently gearing up to release the follow-up to 'This Is What Honesty Sounds Like' later this year, the band are on the road touring in support of recent singles 'Talking Fake' and 'Live For The Rush', both of which offer a tantalizing glimpse at the future of Catholic Guilt.

Agnes Manners

Agnes Manners is an experimental folk rock quartet from Melbourne. Their debut album Fantasia Famish (released 18/9/20) is an impeccably crafted theatrical, melodic and expansive showcase of songwriter Gravolin’s musical vision, born of an intricate web of circumstance and artistic desire. Featuring ex-members of Hellions, Storm the Sky and Cottonmouth, Agnes Manners are set to showcase the synthesis of their experience across stages all over the country, supporting Hands Like Houses on their 'Reflect' tour.

Things Of Stone & Wood

Things of Stone and Wood or ToSaW are an Australian folk rock band which formed in 1989. The original line-up was Michael Bruce Allen on bass guitar and backing vocals; Greg Arnold on lead vocals and acoustic guitar; Justin Brady on violin, mandolin and harmonica; and Tony Floyd on drums and percussion. Two of their albums, The Yearning (February 1993) and Junk Theatre (March 1995) peaked at No. 8 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Their 1992 single, "Happy Birthday Helen" reached No. 9 on the ARIA Singles Chart, which was written by Arnold for his then-girlfriend, whom he later married. At the ARIA Music Awards of 1993 the group won ARIA Award for Best New Talent for "Share This Wine". Arnold won 'Songwriter of the Year' at the 1993 APRA Awards.

"Happy Birthday Helen" was listed at No. 91 on the Triple J Hottest 100 in 1993. The group disbanded in 1998, reformed in 2001 and broke up again in 2006. In 2013 the original lineup reunited and in 2014 they embarked on a 25th Anniversary tour.
