Monroe has a dynamic and unique sound that is not often, if ever heard within the Melbourne music scene. They tend not to place themselves within the confines of any particular genre, as displayed by the ability to deliver powerful guitar driven hard rock from one moment and new wave dance music the next. Embodying non-conformity and diversity, each member of the band comes from a different musical background, bringing a unique and interesting blend to the band’s sound. They are also united under one common goal, to provide infectious riffs and catchy choruses.
Having played a number of shows in their beakout year, including opening for Australia’s greatest AC/DC tribute band Thunderstruck at Musicland, as well as sold-out success for their first ever headliners at Bodriggy Brewing Co and The Espy Basement, all this has helped to hone Monroe’s bombastic live shows. Live showmanship is another key feature of Monroe’s style. Their live performances are unforgettable and energetic to say the least, often incorporating dramatic lighting displays to accompany their electric music. You will not want to miss one of their shows.
