The band began with longtime collaborators Grace Newton-Wordsworth and Aaron Birch, who formed Joan & The Giants in 2019. No strangers to the spotlight, Joan & The Giants have embarked on multiple sold out WA tours, headlined festivals to thousands of people, had rave reviews, a premiere and airplay on Triple J and rotation on Unearthed. In 2022 JATG’s debut EP spent over 3 months on the top 10 metro community radio charts. They also received multiple nominations in last year’s prestigious International Songwriting Competition alongside artists such as Missy Higgins and Eskimo Joe. Most recently they won the 2022 WA Music Award for ‘Best Lyrics' for single ‘The Weekend’, and were nominated in two seperate categories for ’Folk’ and ‘Outstanding Indigenous’. The band have supported prominent acts like Caravana Sun, Weyes Blood, Didirri, Eskimo Jo, Murray Cook, Odette, Winterbourne. Dulcie and more.

"Another impressive one for 2021 from Joan & The Giants. They've zeroed in on an emotional centre point like a professional dart player throwing bullseyes at your heart."
