Aleks and the Ramps

Aleks and the Ramps are a Melbourne five-piece, spilling out a stew of surreal, banjo-driven indie-pop - with hints of psychedelia, doo-wop and even bossa nova. Led by Aleks' banjo and his acerbic lyrics, the crew is filled out by bassist <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Denim+Owl" class="bbcode_artist">Denim Owl</a>, guitarist Flying Simon, and musical nomad Extreme Wheeze (who roams about the stage, playing any instrument in his path). The band, mid-2007, also included dancing drummer Captain Rad - who moved to Perth, leaving a vacancy, which was filled by Black Wasp.

True Live

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia based True Live formed in 2003. They're a unique ensemble that cross boundaries of genre and style while engaging audiences with songs of passion and meaning. With performances and recordings of musical and lyrical depth and a line-up consisting of a three-piece string section (cello, violin, double bass), percussion, keyboards and vocals, the group create a contemporary, organic sound that could only be described as monstrous.

Artist Type:

Geoff Achison

Now residing back in Australia, Geoff Achison has clearly earned a loyal US following since moving to Atlanta from Melbourne in 2007. Guitar Player Magazine readers voted Achison one of the “Top Ten Hottest New Guitarists” in the world in 2008. Having taught himself to play in the isolation of rural Australia, he has developed a blues/funk style all his own. Unaware of how the sounds he was hearing on his limited record collection were produced, he invented some of his own techniques - without the aid of pedals or gadgets.

Graveyard Train

Graveyard Train's official bio, located at http://spookyrecords.com/Graveyard%20TrainPressInfo.html: In retrospect it's obvious that horror and country music go together like peas and carrots - it just took Graveyard Train to show us. Utilising old timey instruments (banjos, dobros, washboard) with the unorthodox percussion of hammer & chain, all underneath a six part baritone 'wall of men' vocal delivery, Graveyard Train have created a unique sound and an equally unique way to deliver it.

The Genie

There are 2 bands with the name 'The Genie'. There are even more bands with just the name 'Genie'. 1. The Genie is a band from San Francisco, California which coined the term 'scratch guitar' as a genre of music. They released an album called "Rebel Music" in 2004. 2. The Genie is also a band formed in 2003 from Melbourne, Australia made up of three members of The Cat Empire - Ollie McGill, Ryan Monro and Will Hull-Brown.

Artist Type:

Mother And Father

Mother and Father is a heavy demented three piece pop/punk band that spawned from the black depths of central Victoria. Dirtier, inferior and more abrasive is the only way to describe the tragedy that is Mother and Father. Were nothing. New album out soon.

Artist Type:

Even

Even are an Australian indie rock three-piece fronted by singer/songwriter/guitarist Ashley Naylor, with Matthew Cotter on drums and Wally Kempton (also known as Wally Meanie) on bass and backing vocals. Even formed in Melbourne, Australia in March 1994. History Naylor and Cotter played music together at high school and in indie band The Swarm, before being joined by Kempton on bass . Even played their first gig in 1994 at the Empress of India Hotel in Fitzroy, Victoria and after a number of EP's, the band released their first studio album, "Less is More" in 1996.

Bomba

Their infectious sound and engaging live show has been recruiting Bomba lovers around the country for the last four years. This Melbourne based, five piece, funky reggae act first landed on the Australian scene as a way to play mutually loved music. After having played for a couple of years, the band's first full length release was the album Population which proved to be a winner with radio and Bomba fans alike.
