MBLAQ

MBLAQ, (an acronym for Music Boys Live in Absolute Quality) is a South Korean quintet boy band created by Korean pop R&B singer, producer and actor Rain (비) under a branch of his label J.Tune Entertainment called J.Tune Camp. The five members include Seung Ho, G.O, Joon, Thunder/Cheon Doong, and Mir. The group debuted on October 9, 2009 at Rain's Legend of Rainism concert. On October 14, 2009 the group released their debut single album, Just BLAQ, which topped various on-line and off-line music charts in South Korea.

카라

Kara (카라) is a popular South Korean girl group formed by DSP Entertainment, debuting in 2007 with the single "Break It" and the album "The First Blooming". The group consists of Park Gyuri (Leader), Han Seungyeon, Jung Nicole, Kang Jiyoung, Goo Hara. KARA was originally a 4 member group until former lead singer Kim Sunghee decided to leave in February of 2008. Soon after, she was replaced by new members Goo Hara and Kang Jiyoung, making KARA a 5 member group.

Jay Park

Jay Park (박재범; born April 25, 1987) is an American hip hop recording artist, dancer, record producer, model, choreographer, entrepreneur and actor. In his early high school years, he joined the local b-boy crew, Art of Movement (AOM). It wasn't until 2004 when he auditioned for JYP Entertainment that he caught the eye of Park Jinyoung and was brought to Korea to receive further training in dancing, rapping, singing, and the Korean language.

Park first appeared through MNET's Hot Blood, a documentary-style reality program that showed the future members of idol groups 2AM and 2PM in training, with Park finishing at the top spot with the most fan votes, and as 2PM's leader. On September 4, 2008, 2PM debuted with their song “10 Point Out of 10 Points” (10점 만점에 10점) on music program M! Countdown after the release of their first mini-album Hottest Time of the Day a few days prior. However, it was their promotions for “Again and Again” that catapulted the group’s status in Korean music, and earned them first place awards for a capped 3 successive weeks in music programs, SBS’s Inkigayo and Mnet’s M! Countdown in May of 2009.

On September 4, 2009, unfavorable comments towards Korea were found on Park’s personal Myspace account from 2005. The comments, written in English to a friend, were misinterpreted and mistranslated by Korean media, quickly spreading across hundreds of news articles. In what has been termed a show of “explosive nationalism”, netizens displayed overwhelming rage over the posts with many demanding for his expulsion from Korea and a petition signed by three thousand calling for his suicide. Park expressed deep remorse and shame over his past, forgotten words and issued an official apology. Despite this, on February 25, 2010, JYPE announced that they had permanently terminated Park’s contract with collective agreement among the other 6 members of 2PM.

On March 15, 2010, Park created his own YouTube channel, where he decided to revitalize his career and began uploading cover songs for his fans and officially marked his return to music after a long hiatus.

Since then, he has gone solo and has had activities both in America and South Korea, and has a mixtape and four studio albums; the latest being "Worldwide". His most recent single is "The Truth Is".

SHINee

SHINee is a contemporary R&B group from Seoul, South Korea. Formed by SM 엔터테인먼트 in 2008, they made their debut on May 25, 2008 on SBS's Popular Songs with their promotional single, "누난 너무 예뻐 (Replay)", or "Noona, You're So Pretty (Replay)." The group consists of Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Minho, and Taemin. Since their debut, SHINee has won numerous awards. They have also starred in their own reality show (Yunhanam) based on their song, "누난 너무 예뻐 (Replay)". SHINee are considered to be a fashion icon, having started the "SHINee Trend," which is popular amongst the younger generation.

2AM

There are, at least, three bands known as 2AM. 1) 2AM is a South Korean four-member ballad boy band under JYP Entertainment. The members are Jung Jinwoon , Jo Kwon, Im Seulong, and Lee Changmin. 2AM is one of the two subgroups branched out from the eleven-member (before Jaebeom's departure) boy band One Day, the other being 2PM. They officially debuted on July 11, 2008 on KBS's Music Bank, performing their debut song "This Song".

소녀시대

소녀시대 / 少女時代 / SNSD / So Nyuh Shi Dae (Girls' Generation), is a nine member girl group from South Korea formed in 2007 by SM 엔터테인먼트. The group debuted on SBS Inkigayo on August 5, 2007, performing their first single, 다시 만난 세계 (Into the new world). The members are (in order of official announcement): 윤아 (Yoona), 티파니 (Tiffany), 유리 (Yuri), 효연 (Hyoyeon), 수영 (Sooyoung), 서현 (Seohyun), 태연 (Taeyeon), 제시카 (Jessica) and 써니 (Sunny).

There are 10 artist/bands who go by the name Tim (1)Tim (팀) (full name Timothy Hwang Young Min) is an extremely talented Korean solo artist from the United States. Born in 1981, he received much training over his childhood years such as vocal, modeling, and playing instruments. (He can play alto sax, drums, and the keyboard). Tim graduated from Temple University, Philadelphia PA, USA. In April of 2003, He debuted with his first album in Korea under Yejeon Entertainment with the beautiful song, "Saranghamnida" (I Love You)...

B2ST

BEAST (in Korean: 비스트, stylized as B2ST) is a six-member boy band from South Korea, under Cube Entertainment. The group was originally known as B2ST, an acronym for Boys to Search for Top. However, their name was changed to BEAST (Boys of the East Standing Tall) a few days before debut. They released their first mini-album Beast Is the B2ST on October 14, 2009. There were many news articles on the group before its debut as many of them had previous experience in the entertainment industry.
