Cherry Poppin' Daddies

The Cherry Poppin' Daddies are an American band formed in Eugene, Oregon, in 1989. Since 1990, they have released seven albums, with an eighth due out in mid-2012. The Daddies' music is primarily a mix of swing, ska and rock, characterized by a prominent horn section and sardonic, often morbid, lyricism. While the band's earliest albums were rooted predominantly in punk rock and funk, their subsequent studio albums have since incorporated influences from many diverse genres of popular music and Americana into their sound...

Janet Seidel

For her sixth release, Australian singer Janet Seidel continues to mine gems from the huge lode of popular music, this time focusing on tunes with a Gallic bent. Several of the tunes on the play list have a French origin, such as "A Man and a Woman" from the 1966 classic French film of the same name and "I Will Wait for You" from the soundtrack to The Umbrellas of Cherbourg. Virtually all of these, including the American pop tunes, are sung in French (like a native) and English. For those who need translating help, the lyrics are printed in both languages in the liner notes.

Elbury

After a couple of writing sessions together Edward and Michael realised that their strong individual styles blended into a seamless combination of jazz, folk and swing with hints of blues. This heralded the birth of Elbury. Ever since these early writing sessions Elbury has honed their composition skills to create smooth rounded edges to their sound. Through an intricate use of finger picking and harmonies that evoke goose bumps, in songs such as 'Seventh Age'. Many times over Elbury have been thanked by their listeners for the warm state that their wooded acoustic sound brought them to.
