Mercury Rev

Mercury Rev is an American rock music group, that formed in 1989 in Buffalo, New York. Original personnel were David Baker (vocals), Jonathan Donahue (vocals, guitars), Sean "Grasshopper" Mackowiak (guitars, clarinet), Suzanne Thorpe (flute), Dave Fridmann (bass) and Jimy Chambers (drums). With their debut, Yerself Is Steam, the band gained an underground following, particularly in the UK. 1993's Boces was critically acclaimed for its alternative sound, and the band's next album, See You on the Other Side...

Love Connection

Love Connection is a Melbourne four-piece making synth-washed hypno-pop, crafted using instruments made entirely of glitter, rainbows and the hairs of unicorns. Their debut self titled album, Love Connection, was released by Sensory Projects early 2010. Love Connection was the shortlived moniker of house producer Ricky Romanini, who scored a Euro hit with the 2000 single 'The Bomb'.

Galaxie 500

There are 2 bands with the name Galaxie 500: 1) Galaxie 500 formed in Boston, MA in 1986 and comprised vocalist/guitarist Dean Wareham (a transplanted New Zealand native), bassist Naomi Yang and drummer Damon Krukowski, longtime friends who first met in high school in New York City before all three attended Harvard University. Wareham and Krukowski initially teamed in the short-lived Speedy and the Castanets, which split after their bass player experienced a religious conversion; upon re-forming, the duo recruited Yang to play bass, although she had no prior musical experience.

The Cavalcade

There are multiple bands that go by the name of Cavalcade. 1.The Cavalcade are an indie pop band from the rain-swept town of Preston in the north of England, inspired by bands such as Felt, The Clientele and The Field Mice. Formed in 2009, they released their debut EP, Meet You In The Rain, in May of that year. Bears

There are at least 4 bands known as Bears: 1. An indie pop band from Cleveland, Ohio. The band consists of Craig Ramsey (drums, vocals, keys, bells, tambourine, guitar, bass) and Charlie McArthur (guitar, vocals, bass, bells). Bears released a self-titled CD/LP in 2006, an EP called Shortest Day of the Year in 2007, a 7" single called Who Knows in 2008, a second album, Simple Machinery, in 2008, a 7" called Snowman in 2009. Fifty Six is Joel Chapen, a solo artist from Los Angeles. His music is nostalgic shoegaze with folk roots, a lush atmospheric pop music with breathy ethereal vocals over down tempo electronic music. Joel’s haunting vocal sound carries the listener into the somber mood of Fifty Six with a dreamy sadness. The songs arrangements carry a feeling of plaintive harmony on the back of his classical acoustic guitars’ muted warmth. There is a profound sense of nostalgia that permeates all of the music of Fifty Six.

Budd

Thundering, mostly instrumental, mid 90s band from Australia. Heavy basslines with heavier guitar melodies punctuated by vintage synth sounds and chanting, Budd was a unique band. With some occasional quieter tracks that borrowed from vintage surf sounds, Budd's real claim to fame was their heavy jams. With a revolving line up and based in different cities at different times, the only constant was / is Jeremy "Budd", a respected sound engineer currently working in Brisbane. The group formed in Brisbane, Australia before relocating to Melbourne.
