Welcome to my website. I am a playwright from Melbourne, Australia. I write dramas, biographical works, adaptations and comedies.

Numerous plays have been produced in Australia, America and England. These include: Sons of Sun – The Sam Phillips Story – (Sydney Opera House, 2014 – 2018), NEWK – The John Newcombe Story – (Glen Street Theatre, Sydney, 2020) and The Truth is Longer Than a Lie (Various venues, 2015 – 2021).

I have been a Writer-in-Residence at Yaddo (Saratoga Springs, New York), La Muse (France), The Kimmel Harding Center For The Arts (Nebraska City, USA) and Crexida Teatro (Bologna, Italy).

In 2015, I was a commissioned playwright at Monash University, Melbourne, writing and directing an adaptation of the Dr Neerosh Mudaly book The Truth Is Longer Than A Lie, a research investigation into child abuse. The play adaptation was published by Black Pepper Press in November 2015.

All 2021 dates for NEWK (The John Newcombe Story) are now rescheduled for early 2023 due to COVID-19. New 2023 dates appear in the NEWK section of the site.

For 2023, The Youthful Adventures of Damon Dukirk will be performed at the SaraSolo Festival in Sarasota, Florida in March 2023. A new play, She Wrote The Letter, will debut at St.Martins Theatre in Melbourne in April 2022 and then have a two week season at La Mama Theatre in Melbourne from June 20 onwards. Late, Late At Night, the one man musical play about Rick Springfield debuts in April 2022 for a run of dates. Please see site for dates.

Matt Hetherington

Matt Hetherington is being tipped as the next big thing to come out of Australia. His extraordinary voice and vitality on stage has earned him exceptional reviews both from his live band appearances and his numerous award winning theatrical performances. Matt has won two Green Room Awards and the prestigious Helpmann Award (Australia's Tony Award) as Lead Actor in a Musical in productions such as; The Full Monty, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Next To Normal and Hair.

Matt has become one of the most sought after live acts in Australia, both as a feature solo artist and fronting the Matt Hetherington Band. He has a long list of happy clients that have had him as a key element in their events.

Matt made the night. He is a star. A true professional that had the dance floor packed in the first song. We cant wait to have him back.

Matt has starred in over 15 major theatre productions in Australia such as; North By Northwest, South Pacific, Hair, Rocky Horror, Flowerchildren (The Story of the Mamas and Papas), The Last 5 Years, Sweet Charity, Damn Yankees, Sugar.

In addition to his theatre credits Matt has guest starred in numerous TV programs such as; City Homicide, The Dr Blake Murder Mysteries, Stingers, Marshall Law and Sea Change.

Matt has also been featured singing at some of the biggest sporting events in Australia such as the AFL Grand Final (Australia's Super Bowl), the Cox Plate (Australia's Kentucky Derby), the 2012 National Rugby League State Of Origin and the John Newcombe Medal for Tennis Australia.

Denis Carnahan

Denis Carnahan is a multi-talented, multi-award winning professional musician with over 25 years experience in live entertainment, and 18 years in the television industry.

Best known for his political and sporting satire, his work flits joyously from the sublime to the ridiculous, from biting parody to emotive songs and themes for film and TV.

Denis has worked for all the major Australian networks - ABC, 7, 9 & 10, as well as many cable channels, radio stations and advertising agencies. He has sung live at venues ranging from Sydney's Olympic Stadium to inner city cafe's and country pubs.
