Rick Charles

Born in India in the southern state of Madras on 12th March 1965 the youngest of 10 children. Adelerick Charles Hogg migrated to Melbourne, Australia with Parents Malcolm & Violet, seven sisters & two brothers in early 1968.

At the tender age of 7 Adelerick, received his first acoustic guitar - a Christmas present from his father. Learning a few basic chords from his elder brother, Adelerick began his quest to further master this instrument.

Through primary school days he performed for his classmates, and won first prize - a candy bar at the school camp talent quest. This event ignited his passion for singing.

During High School he broadened his musical ability and mastered the alto saxophone with the high school orchestra. Upon completion of schooling in 1981, his dreams continued, and the passion to become an entertainer grew. However his father disapproved, as it was a difficult industry to break into.

In view of pleasing his father, Adelerick took on an apprenticeship in the field of printing. On conclusion of his printing apprenticeship, he approached his father once again for permission to follow his dreams. With qualifications behind him, his father gave full support in order to help him achieve his goals.

In 1985 Adelerick changed his stage name to Ricky Charles. In 1989 Ricky Charles was discovered by Adam Dion and Nina Randall of Casino Promotions. Casino Promotions changed his stage name from Ricky Charles to Rick Charles and placed him in numerous successful stage productions, nationally and internationally, also appearing within the fields of television, radio and media.

In 2004 Rick decided to leave Casino Promotions and form his own production company. “A C Hogg Productions".
Since winning the candy bar and guided solely by his strong Christian faith. Rick has not lost sight of his childhood dreams and he continues to dazzle audiences & fans to date.

The Distant South

The Distant South bring their unique Country sound to George Lane, with support from highly acclaimed Solo Artist - Kris Mizzi.

The Distant South weave tales from life’s rich tapestry, into melody and harmony-soaked songs, brought to sonic life through a rich blend of guitar, banjo, double bass, lap steel, mandolin and drums.

2023 was a big year for The Distant South with the release of their debut, self-titled album, recorded with Myles Mumford at Rolling Stock Studios and mastered by Adam Dempsey at Deluxe. This 10-track record is a collection of beautifully captured songs that are incredibly personal - and at the same time immediately familiar to many.

The bands unique sound and authentic story telling have garnered them a growing fan base and critical acclaim that has seen them play at many of Melbourne and Country Victoria’s favourite independent music venues. In 2023, the band extensively toured their new record as well as providing a glimpse of what’s to come through a growing catalogue of new songs.

C.J. Lee

Christopher John (C.J.) Lee: Australian singer/songwriter, guitarist, banjo and harmonica player writes songs channeled through mongrel dogs. Born of the Waratah state in rural NSW, Australia, C.J.Lee performs predominantly as a solo artist drawing influence from blues, Dixieland jazz, vaudeville, folk and country music.

He’s played street corners, folk venues, dive bars, coffee houses, blues clubs, music halls to world renowned festival stages.

When he employs a band, C.J calls upon a select group of musicians to punctuate his bellowing voice and abstract story telling. You'll hear violin responding to the narrative, horns to bring out the bourbon, bull fiddle sliding along with a concoction of drums and percussion, bringing to mind characters such as Tom Waits, C.W Stoneking and Howlin Wolf.

In 2016, Lee relocated to Ontario, Canada and Detriot, Michigan, quickly hustling his way into the Blues & Roots community across Canada and into the US. A troubadour at heart, C.J.Lee finds himself traveling constantly with his suitcase of songs throughout Canada, US and Australia.

His latest album “Hitchcock Sequel” available now on all platforms and on ‘limited edition' RED vinyl.
