The Swedish <a href="" class="bbcode_tag" rel="tag">death metal</a> band Hypocrisy was formed by <a href="" class="bbcode_artist">Peter T&auml;gtgren</a> in 1990 upon his return to Sweden from Florida, where he had been inspired by that state's flourishing death metal scene (bands like <a href="" class="bbcode_artist">Morbid Angel</a>, <a href="" class="bbcode_artist">Deicide</a>, <a href="" class="bbcode_artist">Death</a> and <a href="" class="bbcode_artist">Obituary</a>). Hypocrisy's first demo was recorded entirely by Tägtgren himself; once it secured him a record deal, he recruited a lineup of <a href="" class="bbcode_artist">Masse Broberg</a> (Vocals), <a href="" class="bbcode_artist">Jonas &Ouml;sterberg</a> (Guitar), <a href="" class="bbcode_artist">Mikael Hedlund</a> (Bass) and <a href="" class="bbcode_artist">Lars Sz&ouml;ke</a> (Drums), while he himself settled on guitar.


Formed in 2003 in Geneva, Switzerland by guitar player Drop and singer Benjamin, Sybreed was created to reflect their mutual tastes for metal and industrial music, with conceptual contents revolving around social misery, everyday alienation and the decay of the modern way of life in general. Later, they began work on material for their first album SLAVE DESIGN which was released in 2004, and then performed around the US to unleash the album's electronic violence on stage.

Crown of Thorns

(1) Crown of Thorns was a Thrash/Death Metal band from Trollhättan, Sweden. They released two demos (Forever Heaven Gone [1993], Forget the Light [1994]) and two albums (The Burning [1995], Eternal Death [1997]) under this name. They later were forced to change their name to The Crown.
(2) Crown of Thorns were a blast of melodic rock fresh air when they crashed onto the scene in the mid 90's. The dynamic pairing of vocalist Jean Beauvoir and former Shalamar guitarist Micki Free. AOR melodic rock band Crown of Thorns featuring Jean Beauvoir. Toured with Bon Jovi and Van Halen.

UNIVERSUM are an Australian based metal act. In mid 2008 the band released their debut full length epic 'Leto Destinatus'. The album was mixed and mastered in Sweden by Jens Bogren of Fascination Street Studios (SOILWORK, OPETH, AMON AMARTH) and features artwork by Gustavo Sazes of Abstrata (NIGHTRAGE, FIREWIND, SONIC SYNDICATE). Since the release of the album the band have been enjoying excellent reviews, great feedback and increased media attention, the most recent of which includes being featured on the UK's Metal Hammer and Terrorizer magazine cover CDs.

Times of Grace

Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz and former KsE vocalist Jesse Leach are reuniting for a brand new band, Times Of Grace. Their stunning debut album ‘The Hymn of A Broken Man’ is set for release via Roadrunner Records on November 8. (delayed til Jan 18, 2011) The multi-talented Dutkiewicz plays all the instruments on the record and contributes backing (and occasional lead) vocals as well as handling all production duties.

There are three different bands with the name Traces 1)Traces(Now Saturnian) are a Symphonic/Melodic Black Metal band from the UK, formed by guitarist Dave James, bassist Daniel Scrivener and his brother James Scrivener on keys, and were shortly joined by Sam Greenland on drums. Taking influence from such bands as Wintersun, Dimmu Borgir and Emperor, the success of their demo track Vivisection managed to secure them a deal with Siege Of Amida Records in 2007 only a few months after their formation.

Formed in mid 2008, Widow The Sea have set themselves aside from a vast growing number of Australian metal bands by adopting a modern take on the Swedish death metal sound of fast melodic guitars, technical drumming and vicious vocals. Solidifying it's line-up in early 2009, Widow The Sea are continuing to break away from heavy music's generic clichés and breakdown saturated formulas, focusing on writing more relentless, aggressive death metal.
