Songs born of their broad range of influences from Elbow and Radiohead to Mew and Explosions In The Sky are accompanied by lush orchestral arrangements and the sincere falsetto vocals of Timothy Sutcliffe. This gives the music they create a blend of classic pop with unpredictable structures and epic climaxes reminiscent of The National or Sigur Rós.
Ratatat, from Brooklyn, New York, United States is an electronic music duo with post rock influences: guitarist Mike Stroud and synthesizer driver and producer Evan Mast (E*vax). Stroud and Mast originally met as students at Skidmore College, but did not work together musically until 2001, when their project was named Cherry (later the name of the final song in their debut album). Written and recorded in the bedroom of Mast's Crown Heights, Brooklyn apartment, the band's debut album Ratatat for XL Recordings was released in 2004.
Rachel Barton Pine (born October 11, 1974) is a violinist from Chicago. Considered a child prodigy at the violin, she started playing at the age of 3 and a half. She played at many renowned venues through her child and teen years. She currently resides in Chicago with her husband Greg (a computer entrepreneur and former minor league baseball pitcher), plays regularly with the Chicago Symphony and on her own, tours worldwide, and has an active recording career.

With a seemingly effortless voice and intricate guitar work he is proving to be an immense and evolving new talent. Kurtis says his music could be described as acoustic roots and that he likes to keep things simple, but “simple” is not a word which comes to mind when watching him play his fast-paced fingerstyle guitar.

Current members are: Bob James (keyboards & programming), Nathan East (bass & vocal), Chuck Loeb (guitar) & Harvey Mason (drums & percussion). Loeb replaced Larry Carlton who himself had replaced the founding guitarist, Lee Ritenour in '98.
