Bonsai is a musical trio formed by Paulo Braga (piano), Mané Silveira (saxes and flutes) and Guello (percussion). Having 10 years in the musical road, the trio produces a scenographic and universal music, going from the waltz to “baião”, coupling marches and flowing into the “jongo” and jazz, in Brazil. Jakob is a New Zealand post-rock band, based in Napier, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. The band consists of guitarist Jeff Boyle; bassist Maurice Beckett; and drummer Jason Johnston. They have been compared to such bands as Mogwai, Sonic Youth, and HDU, though they largely eschew any vocals or samples in their songs. The band formed in July 1998, and began by opening for New Zealand bands Salmonella Dub and Pitch Black at the local pub O'Flaherty's. They toured extensively throughout 1999, releasing that same year a self-titled EP recorded with David Holmes at Napier's Venn Production Studios.
Two artists share this name: 1.) The wilds of Colorado brought forth the three men of Matterhorn. Daniel Harvey, Jeremy Grobsmith and Aaron Retka have played together for a decade, first in the tech-violence quartet the Great Redneck Hope, whose two full-lengths remain required listening for the genre. Now, as Matterhorn, they've condensed into a thundering instrumental three-piece, relying on low-grade musical telepathy and a collective half-century of experience.
Zoë Keating is a Canadian musician and composer. Classically trained from the age of eight, Keating studied music at Sarah Lawrence College in Westchester County, New York and the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole in Italy. After graduation she moved to San Francisco and began working in computer software while moonlighting as a cellist with dance troupes, theatre companies, and rock bands. She combined the two, and developed her now signature style while improvising for late night crowds in her San Francisco warehouse space.
Daggers Mid Flight is an Improv outfit made up from the members of Hotel Wrecking City Traders and the rythym section from Spider Goat Canyon. Based in Melbourne Australia they released their debut self titled album through Chairfish Recordings in March 2008. Plans are on the table for the next recording which promises to be as brutal as the first. Daggers Mid Flight's line up comprises of Bass, Guitar and two full Drum Kits!!!
Earthless is the brainchild of Mario Rubalcaba, Mike Eginton and Isaiah Mitchell. Rubalcaba, a prolific drummer, has worn the alias of Ruby Mars during his stint with Rocket from the Crypt, went on to bang away for the Hot Snakes, was the drummer for hardcore art-punks Clikatat Ikatowi and previously was in the Black Heart Procession… and prior to that? Mario was a member of Tony Alva’s Alva Team skateboarding crew.

While the immortal Memphis sound clearly informs The Futuras’ repertoire, this band ain’t no one-trick pony. Expect scorching nods to artists as diverse as Packy Axton and Jimi Hendrix, The Small Faces and Albert King – all delivered in the band’s inimitably hip style. Like the man said, you don’t need a lead singer to have soul, baby.
So hit the dance floor or simply close your eyes and pretend it’s 1964 again: either way, The Futuras have got their mojo workin’ and they’re gonna work it on you…

2) British experimental electronic instrumental 1) Signals is an instrumental project lead by former BLANKEY JET CITY and current PONTIACS bassist 照井利幸 (Terui Toshiyuki). In addition to writing all of the band’s tunes, Terui plays acoustic guitar. The other two members are 椎野恭一 (Kyōichi Shiino) on drums and 勝井祐二 (Katsuki Yūji) on violin. The first Signals album, Lapis Sky, was the first material to be produced by WELD MUSIC CHAMBER.
Michael Landau is a jazz/blues/rock/fusion guitarist based out of Los Angeles. His unique style features an ability to master incredibly difficult technique while demonstrating a wealth of harmonic and tonal ingenuity. His songwriting ability is astounding and underrated, as such masterful compositions such as "Johnny Swing" and "Me/Five Storks" show that Landau is not just a soloist and guru, but a true genius of blues/rock compositions.
