House of Pain

House of Pain was an Irish-styled American hip-hop group who released three albums in the early to mid 90's before lead rapper Everlast decided to pursue his solo career again. The group is best known for its 1992 hit single Jump Around. The band's history starts with a failed short solo career, Everlast teamed up with DJ Lethal and high school friend Danny Boy to form House of Pain. The group was signed to Tommy Boy Records, and their self-titled debut album (1992) went multi-platinum, spawning the successful DJ Muggs produced single Jump Around.

Scorcher

Scorcher (real name Tayo Jarrett) is a grime MC and producer from North London. He began his career in Cold Blooded where he became known for his 'shank' bars, and would regularly attend pirate radio and work his way up through the North London grime circuit. Scorcher had to serve a prison sentence for a short period of time in 2006, and while in jail his mixtape Simply The Best dropped and was greeted with good reviews from the grime scene. Many believe 2005 to mid 2006 was when Scorcher was at the peak of his ability as a grime MC, his bars from that time can be heard on Rinse Sessions.

Kejuan Muchita (born May 21, 1974 in Queens, New York), better known as Havoc, is an MC, music producer, and one half of the hip-hop duo Mobb Deep. He has produced most of the tracks on every Mobb Deep album, and has produced songs for MCs such as Method Man, Nas, Onyx, The Notorious B.I.G., Jadakiss, The Game, LL Cool J, G-Unit, Lil' Kim, La The Darkman, and Jimmy Mserembo. 2) Havoc (Brazil)

Ivens

from Cyclic Defrost: Melbourne’s MC Ivens first emerged from the hip-hop scene a few years back as a founding member of the Awakenings Crew. Ivens’ live performances resemble the intense atmosphere of a hardcore gig more than your usual hip-hop throwdown, with Ivens delivering his sharp-focused dystopian lyrical flow to audiences at point-blank range. Otherwise known as David Coen, Ivens founded Awakenings Crew alongside Hykoo, Nick Sweepah, Chasm, Aux-One, Osinaka and Grizzly Baddums.

dead prez

dead prez is a hip-hop duo from the United States, composed of stic.man and M-1, and formed in 1996 in New York. They are known for their sometimes confrontational style, combined with socialist lyrics focused on both militant social justice, and also positivity. The duo maintains an ethical stance against corporate control over the media, especially hip-hop record labels.

Sleepwalker

Sleepwalker is a technical/progressive death metal band out of New England. Formed originally by guitarist Jonathan Wagner with other members, now they are reformed, with drummer Mike St. Onge, they are beginning to work on their debut ep this fall, and are still looking for a guitarist, bassist, and vocalist. Sabac

Sabac Red is a former member of the <a href="http://www.last.fm/tag/underground%20hip-hop" class="bbcode_tag" rel="tag">underground hip-hop</a> group <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Non+Phixion" class="bbcode_artist">Non Phixion</a>, born in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. His family moved to Brooklyn, NY when he was 4 years old. Sabac began his journey into hip-hop as a b-boy and aspiring graffiti artist. At the age of 12 Sabac began exploring the art of emceeing. He would listen to the mix shows and memorize other MCs' lyrics. He would then make parodies of the song's using his own lyrics. Sabac would perform at block parties, school talent shows and anywhere there was music and a mic constantly battling other MCs and nurturing his craft.

Akir

Akir is an African- American rapper who is known for the political message in his songs. His single "Politricks" exposes political efforts to thwart minorities political voices. Akir was featured on Immortal Technique's Revolutionary Vol. 2 & in the Source's "Unsigned Hype" in January 2005. In March 2006 he released his debut album Legacy. Akir first entered the hip-hop scene as an on-air personality with WNMH 97.9 (Mass.) from 1994 to 1996.

J Rocc

One of the original turntablists, J Rocc founded the Beat Junkies in 1992 with Melo-D and Rhettmatic, but has done just as much on his own as in a group setting. He began DJing in the mid-'80s with a California group named PSK. Soon after forming, the Beat Junkies became a seminal force in the rise of instrumental hip-hop, including core member Babu plus future stars Shortkut and D-Styles. In addition to numerous mixtapes and his own production for Stones Throw releases, J Rocc has been the DJ for Madlib's live shows since the early 2000's...

Pharoahe Monch

Monch released three albums as part of the rap duo, Organized Konfusion with partner Prince Poetry: The self-titled Organized Konfusion, Stress: The Extinction Agenda and The Equinox. The duo handled a large amount of production on these albums themselves. All albums received positive critical reviews, but moderate sales. As a result, the duo split up after recording their final album The Equinox in 1997. Prince Poetry has since denied the possibility of an Organized Konfusion reunion.
