Monolith

There are at least eight artists with the name "MONOLITH": 1) solo project of the belgian electronic music artist & producer Eric Van Wonterghem (ex-Klinik, member of Sonar and Insekt) and started back in 1997. Features a mixture of dark ambient, industrial and experimental ebm sounds mixed with lots of outboard analog gear. 2) post-metal Monolith hails from South Philadelphia. Monolith will lull you with its complex and dark instrumentation and then hammer you when you are weak and vulnerable.

Justice Yeldham

"the most exciting performer I have seen in the last three years – in fact, since I first saw Iggy Pop" - Bruce Russell - WIRE magazine. What's been described as "a trumpet player trapped in a two dimensional universe" is in fact the unique audio work of Justice Yeldham, a maverick musician with an unhealthy obsession with sheets of broken glass, from Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. His now infamous show has astonished and bemused countless people...

HTRK

Originated in Melbourne, Australia, art rock project HTRK -- pronounced "Hate Rock" (also known before as Hate Rock Trio) -- began performing in 2003. After their former group disbanded, bassist Sean Stewart and guitarist Nigel Yang recruited vocalist Jonnine Standish with aims to create a project inspired by Lynchian imagery, using very slow mechanical repetition (courtesy of an 808 drum machine and Jonnine playing percussion), simple groove-laden basslines, and highly textured guitar noise.

Irukandji

Irukandji can refer to three bands. 1. Irukandji is a female fronted progressive metal/hard rock band from Norwich, England formed in 2007 under the name Strength of Presence, (initially as a semi-acoustic trio of two guitars and lead female vocals). In 2008 they recruited a drummer and a bassist and changed their name to Irukandji, to reflect the harsher more aggressive nature of their music. Their style is heavily based on singable melodies, fast paced technical guitar solos and double-bass pedal drumming.

No Anchor

Ian and Alex were born. Years later, they met in Brisbane City. Later still they formed a band. To date they’ve done very little with their band. One day they will probably record a record and tour, it’s probable. But you could also accurately say that one day they will break up, that seems inevitable. Also inevitable is the fact that Alex and Ian will die at some point in the future. Sorry. BUT...

Hype Williams

Hype Williams, comprised of Dean Blunt and Inga Copeland, is named after the film maker responsible for Belly. Starring rappers Nas and DMX, it was a hyper-stylised, Nihilist mess and this London duo borrow its finer traits, its strut and loathing. From beneath a medicated haze they lace twanging Americana with seams of swaggering dread. They are Bobby Peru made music. The band's sound consists of very lo-fi, homegrown recordings incorporating hip-hop and '80s references—and the persona going along the band is equally as bricolaged as the tracks.

Atsuhiro Ito

Atsuhiro Ito was born in 1965. He launched his career as a visual artist in the late '80s, and in '98 began presenting sound performances at art exhibitions and so on. Ito made use of fluorescent lighting (which is also an element of his art installations) in the creation of an original musical device called the optron. He continues to refine the instrument while approaching sound and music from a contemporary-art-based perspective.
