Jónsi

There is more than one artist with this name: 1) Jón Þór Birgisson, aka Jónsi, is the guitarist and vocalist for the Icelandic band Sigur Rós. He is universally known for his soft inimitable falsetto voice. He has also released an album as one half of Jónsi & Alex with his boyfriend Alex Somers, formerly of the band Parachutes. Jónsi's solo album, Go, was released on April 6th 2010. In his solo venture Jónsi departs from the ethereal, dreamy landscapes present in Sigur Rós' music and instead concentrates on shorter, more instant 'portrait' tunes.

Minamo

There are two different artists under the name Minamo: An electro-acoustic rock group and a Free Jazz/Classical Duo. 1. In 1999, the electro-acoustic group Minamo was formed by Keiichi Sugimoto and Tetsuro Yasunaga. In 2000, minamo's self-released CD-R "wakka" was reissued by the New York label Quakebasket. This release was selected by Matmos as one of best sounds in 2001 in The Wire magazine.
In 2001 two new members joined, Yuiichiro Iwashita (guitar) and Namiko Sasamoto (sax, organ), to make the band a quartet. In 2002, first CD album ".kgs" has released by the Tokyo label 360 records.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor

Godspeed You! Black Emperor (formerly punctuated Godspeed You Black Emperor! and abbreviated to GY!BE, GYBE, or just Godspeed) are a Canadian band based in Montreal, Quebec. Formed in 1994 in Montreal, Canada, the band has been highly influential within the post-rock genre. Working with orchestrated arrangements, the nine-piece group created tracks with wide dynamic ranges, a highly evocative use of instrumentation and sounds and uncompromising long form compositions. Their engrossing use of art and visuals in both album packaging and live performances creates an enigmatic aura.
