Spoonbill

Spoonbill aka Jim Moynihan grew up in the bush north of Melbourne, Australia, discovering the excitement of playing the drums at the age of 12. He began playing gigs in pubs before legally being allowed to enter. As the years rolled on he moved into the realm of percussion and then shifted his concentration to electronic production, investing in his first sampler in 1998. He has won a range of audio production awards including the first place and peoples choice award, Electrovision, Melbourne Fringe Festival 2004 & 3rd place 2003.

Pink Martini

Somewhere between a 1930s Cuban dance orchestra, a classical chamber music ensemble, a Brazilian marching street band and Japanese film noir is the 12-piece Pink Martini. Part language lesson, part Hollywood musical, the Portland, Oregon-based 'little orchestra' was created in 1994 in Portland, Oregon by Harvard graduate and classically trained pianist Thomas M. Lauderdale to play at political fundraisers for progressive causes such as civil rights, affordable housing, clean water, and public broadcasting. He soon invited fellow Harvard alumna China Forbes to sing with the band.

Wintercoats

Wintercoats is the Solo Project of Melbourne violinist James Wallace. Starting in 2009, James began composing various string arrangements as well as solo piano pieces , before expanding into other instruments, beginning the Wintercoats project. Opting to play solo, James performs through the live sampling of piano, strings, percussion, and vocals, creating a blend of ambient, classical, and folk music. Fat Freddy's Drop

Fat Freddy's Drop is a 7 piece live Dub/Reggae band from Wellington, New Zealand. Founded in 2001, the current lineup consists of DJ Fitchie, Joe Dukie, Toby Chang, HoPepa, Chopper Reedz, Jetlag Johnson, and Dobie Blaze. The name "Fat Freddy's Drop" is a reference to a piece of blotter art that was circulating in the NZ dance scene in the late 90's. Fat Freddy's Drop have now released their second major studio album, Dr Boondigga & The Big BW - shipping GOLD on the first day of release on 26th May 2009.

Mad Professor

The imaginative recordings produced by Mad Professor (born Neil Fraser 1955, Georgetown in Guyana) demonstrate a mastery of electronic gadgetry. Working from his own studios, Mad Professor has overseen more than two hundred albums including ground-breaking remixes for Massive Attack, Sade, and Pato Banton. Born in Guyana, Fraser earned the Mad Professor tag from his childhood fascination with electronics. At the age of nine or ten he built a radio from scratch. Moving to London at the age of thirteen, Mad Professor continued to experiment with electronics.

Midfield General

Midfield General, real name Damian Harris, is the original founder of the Skint Records label, which became the forerunner of the big success of Norman Cook's Fatboy Slim. Midfield General is the recording alias of Skint label boss Damian Harris. A prime architect of the sound of big beat, Harris grew up listening first to punk rock, then hip-hop, and finally acid house. He then moved to Brighton to study art, eventually taking work as a DJ while promoting clubs around the city.
