Northcape

Northcape is the ongoing work of a British artist, and can broadly be described as downtempo melodic electronica. Northcape self-released his first CD in 2005, following this with a second independent release ('Detach') in 2007 and an EP ('Some Bright Valley') on the monotonik netlabel. Northcape's latest album is Captured From Static, released by Sun Sea Sky Productions on April 6th 2010. The aim is to express ideas and evoke environments, landscapes and memory rather than to focus on the technology and techniques used.

Seja

Seja Vogel is a solo singer-songwriter from Brisbane, Australia. Her soon-to-be-released debut solo album We Have Secrets But Nobody Cares contains vintage electronics and synths fused with beautiful songwriting. Seja is the current keyboardist for Brisbane rock band Regurgitator. She joined the band for the recording of their sixth studio album, Love and Paranoia. Seja is also the keyboardist for Brisbane band Sekiden.

Dust

There is more than one artist with this name:

1) Dust is an angst-fueled hard rock power trio from New York. They had some early punk spirit while standing firm in what was to become metal. Self titled 1st lp released 1971. 2nd album "Hard Attack" released 1972. Bassist Kenny Aaronson went on to play with Rick Derringer and Blue Oyster Cult. Drummer Marc Bell eventually became Marky Ramone, the second drummer for The Ramones. Guitarist/producer Richie Wise went on to co-produce the first two KISS albums.

Spoonbill

Spoonbill aka Jim Moynihan grew up in the bush north of Melbourne, Australia, discovering the excitement of playing the drums at the age of 12. He began playing gigs in pubs before legally being allowed to enter. As the years rolled on he moved into the realm of percussion and then shifted his concentration to electronic production, investing in his first sampler in 1998. He has won a range of audio production awards including the first place and peoples choice award, Electrovision, Melbourne Fringe Festival 2004 & 3rd place 2003.

The Sun Blindness

Perhaps the most psychedelically obsessed band since the 13th Floor Elevators, The Sun Blindness are a duo based in Melbourne, Australia. Formed in 2004, they play lush, dreamy, melodic , harmony driven psychedelia informed by bands such as Spacemen 3 and The Beach Boys. 2008 saw the release of their debut album 'Like Pearly Clouds' in Australia on September 13th, 2008 by indie label Sensory Projects/Inertia. After some financial delay, their second album, "Far Arden" will be released by Sensory Projects/Inertia in February 2010.

HealeyIsland

Light Music meets Dark Electronica.
Described as music that has elements of warm jazz and light music mixed with close up electronic beats, basses, melodies and momentary glitches. HealeyIsland is the one man electronic music project of a South West, UK based musicalist and composernaut. An exploration of where genres meet and collide, a place where dark Electronica meets Light Music, the music is deliberately diverse and eclectic in its reference points. HealeyIsland’s next album, Not Afternoon, But Evening, is out on White Label Music.

Budd

Thundering, mostly instrumental, mid 90s band from Australia. Heavy basslines with heavier guitar melodies punctuated by vintage synth sounds and chanting, Budd was a unique band. With some occasional quieter tracks that borrowed from vintage surf sounds, Budd's real claim to fame was their heavy jams. With a revolving line up and based in different cities at different times, the only constant was / is Jeremy "Budd", a respected sound engineer currently working in Brisbane. The group formed in Brisbane, Australia before relocating to Melbourne.

Gabriel & Dresden

Gabriel & Dresden were Josh Gabriel and Dave Dresden of San Francisco, California. They were DJs and producers who create and mix progressive house and progressive trance music. They were also the production unit behind Motorcycle and Andain. As of March 30th 2008 the group decided to take a break due to both personal and musical reasons, both focusing on their solo careers from here on. The two are best known for their remixes.

Fat Freddy's Drop

Fat Freddy's Drop is a 7 piece live Dub/Reggae band from Wellington, New Zealand. Founded in 2001, the current lineup consists of DJ Fitchie, Joe Dukie, Toby Chang, HoPepa, Chopper Reedz, Jetlag Johnson, and Dobie Blaze. The name "Fat Freddy's Drop" is a reference to a piece of blotter art that was circulating in the NZ dance scene in the late 90's. Fat Freddy's Drop have now released their second major studio album, Dr Boondigga & The Big BW - shipping GOLD on the first day of release on 26th May 2009.
