Songs
Songs are a Sydney based band (featuring members of New Zealand's post-punk wailers This Night Creeps and Ela Stiles of sisterly-duo The Said Sos) that do only simple things. From their single-syllable handle to their hand-drawn artwork to their music itself; it all has to be simple. Born in mid-2007, Songs have only been playing to the public as of this year (2008). They have signed a deal with Sydney label Popfrenzy (home to other acts such as The Gossip, Black Mountain, Jeremy Jay, The Ruby Suns and a whole bunch more) and have since played shows with Deerhunter...
Garage Hymnal
Garage Hymnal are a collaboration of professional Christian musos, committed to taking time out of their normal gigs to lead the church in worship. Originally formed as the Sydney University Evangelical Union’s 2004 annual conference band, they were quickly overwhelmed by the need for evangelical worship leaders in Sydney and started recruiting like-minded contributors to the project. With over 50 contributors, Garage Hymnal is about bringing together musos from all sorts of denominations and from all over Sydney.

Formed in 2006, Jackson Firebird have not only built a strong following on home soil but have captivated audiences from Adelaide to Melbourne, supporting such acts as Tim Rogers, Airborne, Little Birdie, The Fumes and The Screaming Jets just to name a few.

Sweet juicy and unique, Pear and the Awkward Orchestra are a quirky, memorable musical offering; whimsical folkpoproots from a mini-orchestra of diverse instrumentation and sparse arrangements supporting an emotive and powerful voice and gritty, personal songs. Pear and the Awkward Orchestra are Brisbane-based. EP Russian Doll, released end 2007, has enjoyed critical acclaim and regular airplay and orchestrated the grassroots rise of this unique band.

Branch Arterial
Branch Arterial exploded onto the scene with their debut EP "Voices Unknown", bringing with them an intense and breathtaking live show. Having formed in 2009, they have created a unique sonic take on modern Australian progressive rock, and have cemented their place in the Melbourne live scene. With their powerful and mature sound, and aspirations to spread their music abroad, the local scene will be unlikely to hold these very ambitious musicians down.
