The story behind the Stickleback project is one of shifting compromises. Songwriter Ronnie Duisters' musical carreer started out with playing the clarinet in the local orchestra, due to a shortage of available saxophones. Even though his dream had to take a detour, he tried to learn as much as possible and developed quite a taste for melody. Especially dramatic and emotional musical pieces had his preference.
Ezekiel Ox is a musician from Melbourne, Australia. He fronted the band Full Scale from 1998-2005; after their break-up he formed Mammal with Pete Williamson, Nick Adams and Zane Rosanoski. Mammal disbanded in October 2009. In late 2009 he took part in a Full Scale reunion of sorts with Tristan Ross (guitar), Ben Brennan (bass) and Matt Crute (drums). This new incarnation of the band changed their name to Full Scale Revolution in 2010, performing several successful small-scale tours of Australia, before disbanding again on September 6 2010. Jon Stevens (1962- ) is a New Zealand-born singer, now an Australian citizen. Stevens moved to Australia after success as a pop star in New Zealand in the 1970's (his best-known songs from this era are Jezebel and a cover of Montego Bay). He is most recognised for his work as the lead singer of Sydney band Noiseworks, who had major hits in the 1980's with "Take Me Back" and "Touch". Once Noiseworks disbanded, Stevens was part of two Australian productions of Jesus Christ Superstar - playing Judas on both occasions, to high acclaim.

Nicolas Scaravilli was born to an Italian family in Brussels in 1974. It was clear from an early age he was heading straight for a life in music. Nico's formative years were spent learning to spin hip-hop and studying music theory & classic piano. After he was expelled from music college in 1991, he decided to set up his own home studio inspired mainly by the London breakbeat scene. At 19 he met Francis Shabard (DJ Murvin Jay) who introduced him to house music and together they secured DJ residencies at Club XXX, the first house club night in Brussels at the legendary Theatre of Vaudeville.
Songs are a Sydney based band (featuring members of New Zealand's post-punk wailers This Night Creeps and Ela Stiles of sisterly-duo The Said Sos) that do only simple things.
