Ryan Adams

Ryan Adams (born David Ryan Adams on November 5, 1974) is an alt-country and rock and roll singer-songwriter from Jacksonville, North Carolina. Adams dropped out of high school at age 16 to work in a shoe shop and make music. He formed a band named Whiskeytown in 1994; they disbanded in 1999 having released two full albums, Faithless Street and Strangers Almanac. Adams went on to put out his first solo record, Heartbreaker, in 2000. After a long delay, in 2001 Whiskeytown's third album Pneumonia was finally issued.

Currently there are at least 2 bands using the name Discourse. 1) Discourse is a two-piece pop band currently based in Philadelphia, PA. Inspired by an urban legend that describes seminal cultural philosopher Michel Foucault as "that fucked-up guy dancing in the corner", they formed in the fall of 2009 and quickly wrote the songs that make up their first release, the Golden Year EP. D.R.U.G.S. (Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows) is a post-hardcore band created by Craig Owens in 2010 after his departure from Chiodos in 2009. The lineup consists of vocalist Craig Owens (Chiodos, Cinematic Sunrise, Isles & Glaciers), vocalist/guitarist Matt Good (From First to Last), vocalist/guitarist Nick Martin (Underminded, Cinematic Sunrise, Isles & Glaciers), drummer Aaron Stern (Matchbook Romance), and bassist Adam Russell (Story of the Year). D.R.U.G.S. is signed to Decaydance Records. Their self-titled album, D.R.U.G.S., was released on February 22, 2011.
