THE BAD RANDYS

Hailing from Melbourne/Naarm, The Bad Randys are a friendly full-of-beans four-piece fusing the sounds of retro-rock and mid 90s shoegaze. With influences ranging from Thee Oh Sees and Ty Segall to The Brian Jonestown Massacre, fans of wild guitar tones, a healthy dose of the psychedelic and a wall-of-sound stage presence will feel right at home. The Bad Randys are a familiar name at some of Melbourne's most iconic band rooms, including Cactus Room, The Grace Darling and Last Chance Rock & Roll Bar. 2021 is shaping up to be an exciting year for the band, as it brings with it their anticipated first single, 'Serotonin'.

Catholic Guilt

Melbourne/Naarm-based five-piece Catholic Guilt combine elements of punk, alt, folk and rock to create a sound they call 'honest music'. Following the success of 2018's independently released debut EP Hymnbook Vol. 1 which saw them secure Spotify editorial playlisting and airplay via triple j, the band released a critically acclaimed follow-up 'This Is What Honesty Sounds Like' via the Californian label Wiretap Records in August 2020. A musical exploration of five very different human experiences, isolation, frustration, love, anger, and loss, 'This Is What Honesty Sounds Like' earned the band national and international airplay, including love from KROQ in LA, triple j unearthed & triple j. A captivating live act, they've rocked stages up and down the east coast, including appearances on major festivals Full Tilt Festival and Knight & Day Festival and filled support slots with Real Friends, Chasing Ghosts and Switchfoot. Currently gearing up to release the follow-up to 'This Is What Honesty Sounds Like' later this year, the band are on the road touring in support of recent singles 'Talking Fake' and 'Live For The Rush', both of which offer a tantalizing glimpse at the future of Catholic Guilt.

Dane Blacklock and the Preacher's Daughter

Dane Blacklock moved to Melbourne in 2010 and immediately fell in with a bad crowd. Those unwashed miscreants from the wrong side of the tracks that were up to no good. They were into pre-marital sex, illicit substances and rock and roll music. Dane began frequenting live music venues where he was exposed to a host of grimy, rough, blues and country artists. His poor innocent mind was never the same. Soon he was practicing guitar, and 'jamming' with other would be musicians, he formed rock and roll 'groups' with his friends, first Golgotha Motel, a rough and ready savage little enterprise, then the later more refined evolution, Dane Blacklock and the Preacher's Daughter, who together created a kind of doom-folk grime blues hootenanny sound. They played around the Fitzroy and Collingwood area in dive bars of low moral calibre. Now after years of fraternising, dallying, drinking alcoholic beverages, playing music, and other dangerous behaviour, Dane plays with the Preacher's Daughter ...
