KOSMETIKA

After selling out their first Album Launch in July, art pop collective Kosmetika return for an encore performance in celebration of their critically acclaimed third Album “Luxury”, released via Spoilsport Records.

Luxury blends Krautrock, New Wave, Punk, Disco, Pop, and Shoegaze into a sonic tapestry that showcases the band’s broad songwriting nous and tasteful pop sensibilities. “Luxury” represents the first fully collaborative effort from the band, with all 5 members taking turns on lead vocal and songwriting duties across the albums 10 tracks.

Joined by matchmakers Checkpoint and heartbreakers Quality Used Cars, don’t miss Kosmetika headline the Tote for the very first time with an all time lineup of pals.

Good Sniff

Good Sniff is a garage punk-rock duo formed on the Bellarine Peninsula.

Made up of bassist Elias Hodson and drummer/vocalist Lachie Brown, their music has taken them across multiple venues and festivals around Victoria, putting them on stages with artists including Wavves, Civic, The Grogans, Skegss, The Terrys and Ruby Fields.

Good Sniff are releasing their debut album expected in early 2023, signalling an amazing evolution in their delightfully obnoxious sound. Good Sniff have continued bringing their new sound to stages throughout Victoria.

Deb5000

Auckland, NZ punk four-piece with all its female members coming out of other bands (though I haven’t been able to find which ones) to create the ridiculous, the fabulous, DEB5000. Take one look at the cassette cover, it’s amazing; take one look at the track list—where’d they come up with this shit? “Bad Guts” about gastro-intestinal problems, “Keanu (Wyld Stallyn)” that makes a song out of Keanu Reeves characters. I think “Termite Queen” rocks the hardest and makes a great metaphor for female strength. This is some wild Down Under punk rock, and I would recommend.

Catholic Guilt

Melbourne/Naarm-based five-piece Catholic Guilt combine elements of punk, alt, folk and rock to create a sound they call 'honest music'. Following the success of 2018's independently released debut EP Hymnbook Vol. 1 which saw them secure Spotify editorial playlisting and airplay via triple j, the band released a critically acclaimed follow-up 'This Is What Honesty Sounds Like' via the Californian label Wiretap Records in August 2020. A musical exploration of five very different human experiences, isolation, frustration, love, anger, and loss, 'This Is What Honesty Sounds Like' earned the band national and international airplay, including love from KROQ in LA, triple j unearthed & triple j. A captivating live act, they've rocked stages up and down the east coast, including appearances on major festivals Full Tilt Festival and Knight & Day Festival and filled support slots with Real Friends, Chasing Ghosts and Switchfoot. Currently gearing up to release the follow-up to 'This Is What Honesty Sounds Like' later this year, the band are on the road touring in support of recent singles 'Talking Fake' and 'Live For The Rush', both of which offer a tantalizing glimpse at the future of Catholic Guilt.

Supermodels

Melbourne four-piece Supermodels play roots-inspired post-punk that draws on folk rock, 60s pop, blues punk and new wave. Oscar Sergeant and Callum Elvins' lyrical songwriting is backed by Callum's Telecaster twang and the hulking rhythm section of Rehn Smith (drums) and Fraser Elvins (bass), to create driving and melodic rock and roll that pays homage to it's influences while forging a path of its own.

Jeff Rosenstock

Jeff Rosenstock was an anxious kid who grew into an anxious adult and has also made a bunch of music along the way with a bunch of bands, most notably Bomb the Music Industry! who apparently pioneered giving shit away for free on the internet - or at least got some of the credit for it.

Now he plays with his bi-coastal band of rad musicians, mixing punk heart with diverse instrumentation and occasional accuracy. Rosenstock has built his career on an uncompromising commitment to stay true to his beliefs. He’s toured the globe countless times and played to thousands of dedicated fans. In addition to the vast critical acclaim he’s received from places like Pitchfork, The NY Times, NPR and others, Jeff's work can be heard scoring the Cartoon Network series Craig of the Creek, which was nominated for multiple awards, including 2 Emmys. He’s performed on Late Night with Seth Meyers & The Chris Gethard Show as well as numerous music festivals across the world, including Pitchfork Music Festival, Noise Pop, Riot Fest, and more.

These New South Whales

Australian punk icons These New South Whales hit the road for one final headline east coast run in 2023, bringing one of the country’s best-loved pub rock acts Drunk Mums and local enfant terribles Spunk and Itchy and the Nits along for the ride, before making an eagerly awaited return to Europe alongside critical punk agitators, Civic.

Following a massive sold-out national tour in support of their breakthrough third record, TNSW, the Melbourne punk auteurs return to the stage fresh from an all-time cover of Chumbawama’s ‘Tubthumping’ for triple j’s Like A Version and a scene-stealing performance at Yours & Owls Festival.

Debuting at #9 on the ARIA Australian album charts, TNSW’s self-titled third record furthers the band’s evolution from compelling Aussie basement punk into a more sprawling, international space, tying together influences from early ’90s alternative with their punk and hardcore roots. The set of songs finds the quartet leveling up immeasurably, receiving support across The FADER, DIY, NME, The Line of Best Fit, and MOJO, the latter of whom wrote in their review of the record that "it's not even funny how comprehensively they kick the ass of most other contemporary punk-leaning ensembles."

Their hit Comedy Central show – touted as “the punk Flight of the Conchords” (NME) and “the best mockumentary since Spinal Tap” (Monster Children) – saw them become the first Australian band to develop their own TV series and license it to a cable television network. And their podcast What A Great Punk ended its debut year inside Spotify’s top five music podcasts before going on to do a sold-out live run at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2022. While their reputation as all-round entertainers grows, though, their music has long outgrown the comedy label that defined their formative years.

Now “premier punk outfit” isn’t just the cocky phrase the band uses to describe themselves in their mockumentary – it’s a real-life statement of fact.
