Picket Palace

Birthed and nurtured in a sweaty loft apartment above a picket fence workshop in Brunswick, Picket Palace crank out razor-sharp punk belters and anxious, rambling reflections with an enthusiasm that is innocent, unpretentious and completely infectious. Urgent, punchy rhythms underpin distinctive, angular guitar lines and lyrics so honest and guileless that you'll feel like the band have set your own half drunken conversations to music. Taking their name from the sharehouse apartment that brought the band together, Picket Palace consists of lead vocalist Seamus O’Connell, his brother Jack on guitar and vocals, Jack’s housemates Gus George on guitar and Julian Angelatos on drums, and their next-door neighbour Daniel ...

The Counterfeit

Gunslingers, bandidos, outlaws and the Wild West. The Counterfeit perform a dynamic collection of Italian soundtracks derived from the greatest Spaghetti Western flicks of the 1960’s and 70’s.

Featuring Ballarat’s most wanted woman ‘Freya Josephine Hollick’ on vocals, the 10-piece posse interprets iconic themes including The Good, the Bad & the Ugly, Ecstasy of Gold and Django, delivering a romantic backdrop for the perfect cinematic showdown.

After sold out shows at Thornbury Theatre, Brunswick Ballroom, Memo Music Hall and Theatre Royal, plus a headlining set at this year's Boogie Festival, the Melbourne posse are running hotter than a 10c pistol.

The band will be releasing their second album titled ‘14 Killer Bullets From The Spaghetti West - Volume 2’ with a show at Theatre Royal Castlemaine on November 25th, and 2 shows at Brunswick Ballroom (matinee + evening) on December 2nd, to launch the record. The infamous John McAll will be joining the posse for all 3 shows to dazzle the crowd during intermission with his blazing set of barrelhouse piano playing.

Crocodylus

Crocodylus are rapidly emerging trio out of Sydney quickly gaining a reputation for intense live shows that match the ferocity of their good-time garage/surf rock. High school pals Stephen Sacco, Josh Williams and Mikel Salvador have only been doing the Crocodylus thing for a hot minute, but have already supported a host of great Aussie rock acts, and their latest single, Christian Syrups, is a belter.

HED PE

Hed PE (also known as (hed) Planet Earth and stylized as (həd) p.e. or as (Hed)pe[12] or (Hed)PE[13]) or (həd) Planetary Evolution, is an American rock band from Huntington Beach, California. Formed in 1994, the band is known for its eclectic genre-crossing style, predominately in the fusion of gangsta rap and punk rock it has termed "G-punk", but also for its reggae-fused music.

After releasing three albums on Jive Records, Hed PE left the label to record independently. Hed PE was signed with Suburban Noize Records from 2006 until 2010. Since 2014, the band has been signed with Pavement Music.

Since 2006, the band has become known for its involvement in the 9/11 Truth movement, referencing it in many of their song lyrics and concerts, as well as the concept of the album New World Orphans.

To date, Hed PE has released twelve studio albums, one live album and three compilation albums, and has sold over 700,000 albums worldwide.

The band was formed by vocalist Jared Gomes, also known as "M.C.U.D." (MC Underdog),[15] and guitarist Wes Geer, who became friends amidst the Orange County hardcore punk scene.[16] Gomes and Geer recruited guitarist Chizad, bassist Mawk, drummer B.C. Vaught and DJ Product © 1969. They named the group "Hed", which stands for "higher education".[17] The band built a following with their energetic performances at local venues,[16] and released the self-financed extended play, Church of Realities. Legal issues forced Hed to change their name, adding "PE", which stood for "Planetary Evolution (later changed to planet earth) ".[15][17]

Hed PE signed with Jive Records, releasing their self-titled debut album in 1997. In his review of the album, AllMusic's Steve Huey wrote "There are some slow and/or unfocused moments [...] but overall, its aggression will probably play well with late-'90s metal and punk fans."[18] Due to the label's contractual terms and the disappointing sales of the album, the band found themselves unable to repay the cash advances given to them by Jive. Gomes is quoted as saying "We had these romantic visions of the music industry, and we thought it would be cool to be a punk band on a rap label. So we fulfilled that dream, but it was also probably the worst thing that could have happened. [...] We've had offers from Sony and others that we can't take because we owe Jive so much money."

The Knews

Fresh from across the ditch, The Knews is the brainchild of Cullen Kiesanowski who, to his 26-year-old name, already has a goldselling single, countless tours around the globe and an Aotearoa Music Award nomination as a writer and performer in 'nomad'. While following a similar trajectory and featuring the same level of anthemic sing-along-abilty, The Knews is a stylistic departure from Kiesanowski's previous project. Grungey and guitar driven, glued together by spacey synths, the influence of acts including Beach Fossils, The Drums and Car Seat Headrest can be heard.

The Buzzcocks

Buzzcocks are an English punk rock band that singer-songwriter-guitarist Pete Shelley and singer-songwriter Howard Devoto formed in Bolton in 1976. During their career, the band combined elements of punk rock, power pop, and pop punk. They achieved commercial success with singles that fuse pop craftsmanship with rapid-fire punk energy; these singles were later collected on Singles Going Steady, an acclaimed compilation album music journalist and critic Ned Raggett described as a "punk masterpiece".

Devoto left the band in 1977, after which Pete Shelley became the principal singer-songwriter.[9] After releasing three albums, the band broke up in 1981 following a dispute with their record label, and reunited in 1989 and released six more albums before Shelley's death in 2018.[10] The band has remained active, being led by their original bassist Steve Diggle, who assumed guitarist-and-singer duties, and this line-up released the 2022 album Sonics in the Soul.
