Melbourne Symphony Orchestra

Melbourne has the longest continuous history of orchestral music of any Australian city and the MSO is the oldest professional orchestra in Australia, celebrating its centenary in 2007.
The MSO performs to more than 250,000 people in Melbourne and regional Victoria in over 150 concerts a year. The Orchestra has performed with renowned artists such as Igor Stravinsky, Mariss Jansons, Isaac Stern, Yehudi Menuhin, Jessye Norman, Artur Rubinstein, Mstislav Rostropovich, Hakan Hagegard, Geoffrey Lancaster, Emanuel Ax, Jeffrey Tate, Sumi Jo, and Nigel Kennedy.

Portico Quartet

The Portico Quartet are a bunch of guys in their early twenties who play instrumental music. Formed four years ago from two sets of schoolfriends, they share a house in East London, make recordings, and play festivals and clubs. Mick Turner

Mick Turner is a musician and painter from Australia. Aside from his role as guitarist of The Dirty Three, and Tren Brothers with The Dirty Three's drummer, Jim White, he has released several records to his own name entitled: "Tren Phantasma" , "Marlan Rosa" , "Seven Angels" , "Moth" and "Blue Trees" . Kaki King (born 24th August 1979 as Katherine Elizabeth King) is an American guitarist and singer from Atlanta, Georgia, United States. While Kaki King is unlikely to give up her job as a singer and guitarist extraordinaire, she wouldn’t mind being a secret agent for a day at some shadowy foreign intelligence agency. A fan of Cold War history, the New York-based artist finds espionage work appealing for the opportunity to don a disguise and speak in a foreign accent. More importantly, she likes the idea of actually convincing somebody that she is somebody else.

In mid 1998 the live music scene in Sydney, Australia sucked!! Rock bands were replaced by indie noodling and angst ridden grunge burnouts who would never admit to loving rock moves or monster lickage. The fools. It was around this time Troy Scerri, Charlie O'Neill and Dave Tomley began to assemble a band with a desire to play the kind of music they listened to at home, but found it impossible to find on the live circuit. They recruited the brutal Mark Mills and doom lord Jason Breitfuss and =DAREDEVIL= evolved.

Nobuo Uematsu (Born March 21, 1959) is best known for his composition for the Squaresoft (now Square Enix) games company throughout the 1980s and 1990s, most notably on the Final Fantasy series of games. Composing all his work on the keyboards, he has been hailed as one of the most popular and beloved composers of video game soundtracks. Uematsu enjoyed commercial success with the track "Eyes on Me" from Final Fantasy VIII, performed by Hong Kong singer Faye Wong.

Explosions In The Sky

Explosions In The Sky is an American instrumental post-rock band, which formed in Austin, Texas in 1999. Rodrigo Sanchez and Gabriela Quintero are two fast-fingered Mexicans with a unique sound created on acoustic guitars. Their music is difficult to define, straddling both world and rock and often imbued with timeless Hispano – classical influences. The fire in it comes from their life-long passion for metal music.
