Belleruche

Belleruche is a band consisting of Kathrin DeBoer, Ricky Fabulous, and DJ Modest. Formed in the lesser bars and pubs of North London in 2005, the band now record for the Brighton based Tru-Thoughts label. (They've got a new single out in August called 'Clockwatching'- video is up here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEDhY9H0f08) Influenced by vintage blues records, punk girl drummers, obscure 60's cover bands and experimental west coast turntablists, they describe their sound as 'Turntable Soul Music'.

Prefuse 73 (Guillermo Scott Herren), is a <a href="http://www.last.fm/tag/hip-hop" class="bbcode_tag" rel="tag">hip-hop</a> and <a href="http://www.last.fm/tag/electronic" class="bbcode_tag" rel="tag">electronic</a> producer/artist, currently based out of Barcelona and signed to <a href="http://www.last.fm/label/Warp" class="bbcode_label">Warp</a> Records. Herren releases his music under various aliases, most notably Prefuse 73, <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/+noredirect/Delarosa+and+Asora" class="bbcode_artist">Delarosa and Asora</a>, <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Piano+Overlord" class="bbcode_artist">Piano Overlord</a> and <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Ahmad+Szabo" class="bbcode_artist">Ahmad Szabo</a>. Thievery Corporation

Thievery Corporation is a Washington, D.C.-based recording artist and DJ duo consisting of Rob Garza and Eric Hilton and their supporting artists. Their music style mixes elements of dub, acid jazz, indian classical and brazilian (such as bossa nova) with a lounge aesthetic. Thievery Corporation is on the Eighteenth Street Lounge record label named after the DC club owned by Eric Hilton, but several of their singles and EP's appear on the 4AD and !K7 labels.

Dementio13

Dementio13 is a Cardiff-based producer/remixer. His music is a mix of Krautrock-influenced drones, experimental electro, film soundtracks, post-rock and psychedelia.
He has also been involved in collaborative projects with the international duo Cwtch and the loose collective, Sal Boca.

Syntax

At least three artists share the name Syntax: 1) "Syntax" are a London based electronic duo formed by MIKE TOURNIER and Jan Burton in 2002. Mike Tornier is well known for his work as a 'groove technician' with 90s electronica setup "Fluke". Jan Burton (vocals), influenced by bands like "The Doors" and "Pink Floyd", calls himself 'Mr Five Piece Band and Guitars.' The first single "Pray" (2002) made top 30, was a dancefloor smasher and was leading them to a contract with the Illustrious label.

Sia

Sia Kate Isobelle Furler, to use the name her musician parents gave her, already has a staggering track record. If her name itself - pronounced 'See-ah' - isn't familiar to millions, her voice undoubtedly is. In 2000, the Adelaide born singer scored a bolt from the blue Top 10 hit with her debut single, Taken for Granted. Pairing her unique Australian drawl with the strident strings from Sergei Prokofiev's 'Romeo & Juliet', the track was championed by Trevor Nelson and had Sia performing live on Jo Whiley's Radio 1 show.

DJ Vadim

DJ Vadim (aka Vadim Peare, real name Andrey Gurov) is a prolific DJ from Russia, based in London. His music combines hip hop and electronica and his recording technique involves very precise sampling as opposed to looping. He signed to Ninja Tune in 1992, and founded his own independent record label, Jazz Fudge in 1995. Aside from DJ-ing, he has worked in numerous roles including A&R, promoter, and radio presenter on the BBC's "Around The World In Eight Relays".
