The City Lights

The City Lights are a band from Sydney. They released their debut album "Escape From Tomorrow Today" in May 2004 on Ivy League Records in Australia and on Bittersweet Records in Spain and followed it up in August 2007 with "El Sol" on the same labels. They have just finished a brand new album called "I Just Got To Believe" with a release date of 14th September 2012. They have had a bit of a revolving door of great musicians coming and going…. Saltwater Band are a group of 8 Yolngu Artists from Elcho Island in Arnhem Land, Northern Territory, Australia. The band is headed by the experience and undeniable talent of singer/songwriter Gurrumul Geoffrey Yunipingu, a longstanding member of internationally acclaimed band Yothu Yindi.

Chris Poulsen Trio

In March 2004, drummer Trent Bryson-Dean sat in on a gig with a jazz band called SCAT. He was very quickly impressed with the playing of Chris Poulsen (Fender Rhodes) that day and vowed to Chris and bassist Jeremy O’Connor that he would book a gig for the trio as soon as he possibly could.
True to his word, Trent was able to secure a gig at the Brisbane Powerhouse five months later in August. (With great wisdom he chose to name the group Chris Poulsen Trio rather than name the group after himself – a mere drummer!) The gig proved to be a great success...

Forming in Melbourne in 2002 from the demise of the much-respected and criminally unheard Perth group Sleepy Township, band members Mia Schoen and Chris Gorman (AKA Chrissy G) continued their love affair with melodic noisy pop inthe guise of New Estate. Along with New Zealanders guitarist Marc Regueiro-McKelvie and ex-Fur member Mindy Mapp they set about gigging and recording. After releasing the very favourably reviewed album "Considering..." The Vampirates

2008 saw the coming together of a group of friends to start The Vampirates. Influenced by bands such as Cancer Bats, Come Back Kid and Pennywise. The Vampirates have staked their claim as one of the most impressive live acts in the nation. Their intense sound gained the attention of Kevin Call of Comeback Kid, who worked closely with the band to produce the 2009 EP 'Cast Aside'. To help gain national exposure The Vampirates have continued to tour strongly. And help it did, 'Cast Aside' charted in the ARIA Alternative Charts and has achieved regular airplay on national broadcaster Triple J.

BLACKBIRDS

There are at least two bands/artists with this name: 1) BLACKBIRDS is a hardcore/punk band from Michigan (although some members are from Canada). Their earlier material took cues from American Nightmare/Outbreak/97A but their new material is in the vein of His Hero Is Gone/Tragedy/etc. They are not broken up anymore and are back together with a new lineup, new releases soon, and are back touring. The hardcore band Blackbirds is not associated with blackdog records.
