MOJADA are the 2010 MusicOz Australian Independent Rock Artists of the year. After being nominated as Top 5 finalists in both the ‘Rock’ and ‘Dance’ categories MOJADA joined this years winners list which included Art vs Science, The Jezabels and Dallas Fresca. The win has topped an impressive start to 2010 after their recent single release ‘Find A Way’ became the #6 most added track to radio in Australia & spent 5 weeks on the AIR Top 20 Radio charts.

Fifty six

Fifty Six is Joel Chapen, a solo artist from Los Angeles. His music is nostalgic shoegaze with folk roots, a lush atmospheric pop music with breathy ethereal vocals over down tempo electronic music. Joel’s haunting vocal sound carries the listener into the somber mood of Fifty Six with a dreamy sadness. The songs arrangements carry a feeling of plaintive harmony on the back of his classical acoustic guitars’ muted warmth. There is a profound sense of nostalgia that permeates all of the music of Fifty Six.

Scissor Lock

Scissor Lock is an experimental ambient project of Sydney musician Marcus Whale, primarily using voice, tape feedback and laptop processing. Since 2005, Scissor Lock has released music on sound&fury, HellosQuare, Monstera Deliciosa, Curt and La Main Gauche and performed around Australia with, among others, Seaworthy, Shannon O'Neill, Anonymeye, Seth Rees, Pimmon, Justice Yeldham, Jeff Burch, Oscar Vincente Slorach-Thorn, Knitted Abyss and No Anchor.

Mending Melissa

A five-piece band originally from all over the world, but now Sydney-based. Their music is described as complex but catchy rock with a progressive edge...together they are Mending Melissa. With regular fixtures on the Sydney music scene since late 2009, they've played venues like The Annandale, The Excelsior, Manly Fisho's and The Landsdowne. They supported the Salvation Army Oasis Youth Initiative with an outdoor concert as part of the Surry Hills Festival and were the headline act for the Bring It On! Festival 2010 in Sydney.

The Deep End

The Deep End was a band from Watertown, NY consisting of Adam Maguire (The 65 Film Show,) Mike DeMarco (Between Walls, ex-The Score, Good Morning Reality, ex-Alabama Blacksnake) and Josh Hagen (Collective Funtime Band, ex-Dead End, ex-Curse What's Sacred) in the fall of 2002. Many shows and an EP later they broke up in 2003 when Mike moved to NYC and Adam was sent to war with the Army. A brief reunion may or may not have happened in 2004 when Mike moved back to Upstate NY and Adam came back for a few months before ultimately moving away but Adam did play at least one acoustic show in 2004.

Don Walker

Don Walker (born November 29, 1951 in Ayr, Queensland) is an Australian musician and songwriter most famous for writing many of the hits for legendary Australian pub rock band, Cold Chisel. He played piano and keyboard with the band from 1973 to 1983, when they disbanded. Don has since gone on to record several solo albums as well releasing albums with Tex Perkins and Charlie Owen as Tex, Don and Charlie.
