Parades

Parades are a young art rock band from Sydney who wisely choose to create their own music with no outside input or interference. Featuring Dan Cunningham, Tim Jenkins, Michael Scarpin and Jonathan Boulet – Parades’ debut album Foreign Tapes is out now via Dot Dash Recordings. The album is expansive and ambitious; a haze of pop harmonies, post rock guitars and electronic meanderings. Drum Media did a great job describing the band when they said

Wolfie

Wolfie is a band from Champaign, IL. Consisting of Joe and Amanda Ziemba, Mike Downey and RJ Porter, they rock pop to a different level. Pick up any of their many CD's and if you enjoy this check out Amanda and Joe's husband and wife duo, The Like Young, an amazing, but retired, Chicago Indie rock duet. Fans of the Like Young be warned, with the exception of 'Tall Dark Hill,' their sound is pretty different than what you're used to.

Stornoway

Their album BEACHCOMBER's WINDOWSILL has been released in the USA: Amazon, iTunes, and Insound. Stornoway is a British alternative indie pop band who formed in 2006 in the Cowley area of Oxford, UK. Stornoway consists of singer and guitarist Brian Briggs; singer, guitarist, cellist and keyboardist
Jon ouin; singer, guitarist and bassist Oliver; and drummer Robert. The band is often joined by trumpeter Adam Briggs and violinist Rahul Satija.

Matt and Kim

Matt & Kim are an alternative punk/dance duo from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2004 by Matt Johnson (guitar/vocals/keyboards) and Kim Schifino (drums/vocals). Their simple, dance style rhythms and energetic performances have gained them a substantial local following and a formidable online presence through social networking and media sites like YouTube and MySpace. The group had sprung from the record label and media group "Iheartcomix", which released their first full-length, self-titled CD in October, 2006.

Islands

Hailing from Montreal, Canada, Islands is a 6 piece band founded in 2005 by The Unicorns co-founder/songwriter Nick Thorburn (often performing as "Nick Diamonds") and drummer J'Aime Tambeur. Following the untimely disbandment of The Unicorns as they teetered on the brink of breaking through, Islands' debut release entitled Return to the Sea, with its quirky sounds and refreshing, catchy melodies includes collaborations with members of Arcade Fire and Wolf Parade.

Foster the People

Foster the People is an indie rock band that formed in Los Angeles, California, United States in 2009. According to the Pumped Up Kicks Songfacts, the band started off as a solo project for vocalist, guitarist and keyboardist Mark Foster, who had been working as a jingle composer for commercials. As his songs became more grandiose, Foster enlisted Cubbie Fink (bass, vocals) and Mark Pontius (drums). The band released their debut self-titled EP in January 2011. The band's debut full length album, Torches, was released on May 24, 2011 on Star Time/Columbia.

Beth Jeans Houghton

In the past year 18 year old Newcastle based singer/songwriter Beth Jeans Houghton has garnered a reputation as an antidote to the current crop of acoustic songstresses. With her alternative blend of experimental folk, Beth has been hailed by the NME as "a Joni Mitchell for the anti-folk generation". With influences ranging from Frank Zappa, Vashti Bunyan, Fourtet and Love, Beth has cultivated a sound that is truly her own.

Sparkadia

Sparkadia is an alternative rock band based in Australia. The band formed in Sydney, Australia, in 2004 and currently comprises lead vocalist and guitarist Alex Burnett, keyboardist, guitarist and vocalist Tiffany Preece, bassist and vocalist Nick Rabone and drummer David Hall. The band found commercial success when their debut album Postcards peaked at #23 on the ARIA albums chart. The band formed in Annandale, Sydney, in 2004.
