Born Ruffians are an indie rock band, originally from the small town of Midland, Ontario, Canada, located near Georgian Bay. The members are Luke Lalonde (guitar/vocals), Mitch Derosier (bass) and Steven Hamelin (drums). The band released their debut EP in 2006 and currently signed to Warp Records. The vehicle for the pop genius of Joe McAlinden. Joe was previously a member of The Groovy Little Numbers, and recorded for 53rd and 3rd Records of Edinburgh. He has been in Bellshill scene bands with members of Teenage Fanclub, Soup Dragons and The BMX Bandits. They released a mini-album in 1992 on Creation Records called greatest Hits Vol. One. This featured Neil Grant, Raymond Prior and Mark Hughes.

Space age pop collagists Broadcast formed in Birmingham, England, in 1995; comprised of vocalist Trish Keenan, guitarist Tim Felton, bassist James Cargill, keyboardist Roj Stevens, and drummer Steve Perkins. The quintet came together out of a shared affection for the psychedelic cult band the United States Of America, a primary influence on their subsequent work as a group.
