New Navy

Fresh on the back of their 2010 JD Set win which included a gig with iconic Aussie rockers 'Wolfmother' and a behind-the-scenes reality show on Chanel V, Sydney's New Navy are certainly on the brink of something special. Described by triple J’s Dom Alessio as “having a ton of potential, combining really well the sounds of Britain and the sounds of the U.S”, the young quartet draw influence from such great pop and indie acts as The Cure and Talking heads, combined with contemporary artists such as Vhs or Beta, Klaxons and The Editors.

Yeasayer

Yeasayer is a band based in Brooklyn, New York. The band was formed in 2006 and consists of three core members, Chris Keating, Ira Wolf Tuton, and Anand Wilder. They first came to attention after appearing at the SXSW festival in early 2007. Their debut album All Hour Cymbals was released in October 2007. Yeasayer described their music as "Middle Eastern-psych-snap-gospel". Live performances often include psychedelic visuals.

Yeasayer released their second studio album, Odd Blood, in February 2010, featuring more pop music influences than earlier work. The band revealed that the album came out of a massive acid trip in New Zealand. Peter Gabrielâ€™s drummer Jerry Marotta helped to record Odd Blood in an upstate New York studio packed with rare synths and percussion instruments from around the globe to create the characteristic worldbeat sound of the album.

Yeasayer released their third studio album, Fragrant World, in August 2012. According to the Fingers Never Bleed Songfacts, it was named after a track that didn't make the new album's final cut. Kaiser Chiefs

Kaiser Chiefs are a britpop revival band which formed in Leeds, England in early 2003. The band consists of Ricky Wilson (vocals), Andrew White (guitar), Simon Rix (bass), Nick "Peanut" Baines (keyboards) and Nick Hodgson (drums). The band has released three albums as of 2009 and have released 11 singles, including the hits I Predict A Riot, Oh My God, Ruby and Never Miss A Beat. Several members of the band are ardent fans of the English football team Leeds United (as the band originates from Leeds).

Weezer

Weezer is an American alternative rock band. Formed in 1992, they have released eight full length albums, six EPs, and a DVD. Their latest album, Hurley, was released on September 14th, 2010. They have sold over 9 million records in the United States to date. The Beginning (1992-1993) Weezer formed on February 14, 1992, in Los Angeles, California by Rivers Cuomo, Patrick Wilson, Matt Sharp, and Jason Cropper, who was later replaced by Brian Bell.

Animal Collective is a New York City/Washington, D.C/Lisbon based music collective of avant-garde musicians from Baltimore, Maryland. Animal Collective consists of Avey Tare (David Portner), Panda Bear (Noah Lennox), Deakin (Josh Dibb), and Geologist (Brian Weitz). Thief

There are, at least, four artist known by this name. 1) A collaborative project between singer-songwriter Sascha Gottschalk (voice & guitar) & Extended Spirit. So far they're best known for contributions to the 'Secret Love compilations', as conceived by Jazzanova & resoul (Soultrade Record Store). They have also collaborated with Clara Hill, Andre Zimma & Airmate. After two singles (SK125 and SK129), their début album is expected soon.

Kasabian

Kasabian are an alternative rock band from Leicester, England, United Kingdom. The band consists of Tom Meighan (vocals), Sergio Pizzorno (guitar, synths, vocals), Christopher Edwards (bass), Ian Matthews (drums) and touring guitarist Jason Mehler. Klaxons are a psychedelic pop band based in London. The band consists of Jamie Reynolds (bass, vocals), James Righton (keyboards, vocals) and Simon Taylor-Davies (guitar) with drummer Steffan Halperin being officially added in 2007. Reynolds, Righton and Taylor-Davies formed the band in New Cross, London, United Kingdom, in 2005 Their debut single, "Gravity's Rainbow" was released on 29 March 2006 as a 500 copies limited 7-inch vinyl, decorated by the band themselves.

3. A rock band from Devon, England 1) A three-piece London indie band formed from the ashes of Fear of Flying in late 2007. The line-up consists of singer/guitarist Harry McVeigh, bassist/lyricist Charles Cave and drummer Jack Brown. Unfinished Business (released April 29th 2007) was their first single, released on Jack Brown's label Chess Club Records. This single was released on a vinyl 7" format only and was limited to 500 copies.

Grand Atlantic

Grand Atlantic are an alternative rock band from Brisbane, Australia. They blast out a stunning mixture of melodic, hard-hitting rock, often compared to Oasis and Jet but recalling the powerpop sensibilities of Redd Kross or Teenage Fanclub. This band is all about immediate hooks, modern production and a swaggering rhythm section. Their new album, titled ‘How We Survive’ was released in July 2009 by Laughing Outlaw Records in Australia.
